I started drawing in 1978 and two years later picked up a paint brush. It was another 14 years before my first public show of watercolors which is to this day a medium of expression which I love.
5 years later, in 1999, I attended a Vincent VanGogh exhibit that shook me to my core. I had found a kindred spirit and art mentor. He became and remains one of my idols. This experience led me to oil painting, a form I stepped into with great excitement.
While it continues as my favorite medium, I enjoy them all - graphite, ink, charcoal, watercolors, oil. I have found many great living painters with whom I've enjoyed sharing knowledge and painting, side by side. Their lessons, techniques and mantras live on in my daily life, both on and off the canvas.
